PE and Sport Premium

The government is continuing to provide additional funding to improve physical education (PE) and sports in primary schools. The money allocated can only be used on the provision of PE and sport in schools. We are committed to provide the highest quality sporting opportunities possible which will encourage a mastery of sporting skills and concepts. The planned activities will additionally develop self-confidence, social and cooperative skills, and communication skills. It will provide opportunities to participate in cluster sporting activities with other special schools.

The PE and sport premium has enabled our students to:

  • participate weekly in adapted P.E. lessons that have been planned and developed with support and advice from LINKS School Sport Partnership
  • access sport inter-school sports events and competitions (e.g. Pentathlon competitions, Sensory Dance events, MATP events)
  • participate in weekly football lessons ran by Sheffield Wednesday Football Club
  • access Rebound Therapy ran by trained members of staff

We will make sure that these improvements are sustainable by:

  • reviewing their effectiveness with teachers and members of staff
  • reviewing their effectiveness with the governing body
